Inspiration
With Reason 3 came a very powerful new device, the Combinator. By allowing you to link devices in a virtually unlimited number of ways, you can create sounds never before possible. Very exciting stuff. These new possibilities, and this new way of thinking about sound creation, is the main inspiration behind Fusebox. As always, we've got some very unique source material inside, all at 24 bit, and each patch has been painstakingly assembled.

Motivation
This the first ReFill from us here at TrackTeam, and as longtime Reason users we wanted it to be something special. During the planning of this project we did a lot of research and checked out a lot of the other ReFiils out there and we discovered a very important thing...most ReFills aren't very good. Now, we understand that "good" is a matter of opinion. But from a design and delivery perspective, a lot of what's out there just isn't very well implemented. For example, we found that many of the commercial ReFills available feel like they have been thrown together in haste, tons of patches with little variation between them in the name of taking up space. Twist a knob, save. Twist a knob, save. Not much love put in. We also found that many ReFills focused heavily on either one instrument or genre, resulting in no diversity or having that "song in a can" construction kit feel. Fusebox is a different story. TrackTeam has always deisgned our collections with the idea that musicians like to play things. And more importantly, play things they don't have. That's the whole point of sample collections, isn't it? We carefully selected a diverse set of source material for this project and maximized it within Reason with attention to detail and intense programming. The result is a large and varied collection of patches deliverable in a convenient download. We've got some truly awesome stuff inside and we're sure you'll enjoy it. As far as we can see, nothing out there even comes close. Below you will find some brief descriptions of what's going on inside Fusebox. If this looks like a lot of reading for a ReFill, it is. We've always taken pride in doing things a little differently here and we like people to know what they are getting; a unique product at a great value, designed to inspire musical expression. Have fun!

Combination
Fusebox is packed with some very powerful custom Combinator machines. Each one has been meticulously programmed and thoughtfully laid out to maximize the sonic potential of these sounds. There are over 300 custom Combis inside Fusebox spanning a wide variety of styles and uses. Driven by our customized "machines" and referencing our huge pile of amazing source material, along with Reasons's own synths, these combinations take Reason to the next level, and then to a level beyond that. You can click here to see our Combinator rack in full size. Here are our machines and what they do:
ODD C: MONO COMBIMACHINE
inspired by one of our favorite classic analogs, this machine is our frontend for warm one-voice fatness. From layered analog oscillator samples to stacked Subtractors to full multisampled synths and acoustic instruments, this machine is home to big ass basses and powerful, cutting leads.
GIZMO: DREAMPAD MACHINE
Modeled after what many consider to be the ultimate hardware pad synth, the Gizmo programs are where you'll find lush pads, rich textures and evolving soundscapes. Built from combinations of sampled analog and digital synths, real world tones, Subtractors and Malstroms, and sprinkled with just the right effects required for space travel.
TTA 401: ANALOG SEQUENCER
The TTA 401 is our take on the classic step analog step sequencers of the past, with a twist of course. The Combinator allowed us to create some very inspiring synth grooves by allowing usto stack, layer and chain, something not possible with the vintage machines. There are patterns inside each to get you started. Get creative and take them to new places!
YELLOW #5: FUSION MACHINE
This machine is home to everything from acoustic instruments to synths to Rhodes and all pointsin between. Layers, stacks and creative programming bring together elements you wouldn't normally use together, and take them in a whole new direction. Organic and Inspiring.
TTBX: BEAT MACHINE
The TTBX beatbox, based on hardware sampling drum machines, is the rhythm section of fusebox. TTBX programs are built from drum patterns, from both ReDrum and Rex loops, combined with synth elements, instruments and effects to create some very usable and inspiring beats. And the flexibility of the Combinator makes it easy for you to take these beats to new places of your own.
TTUN: WORLD / ETHNIC MACHINE
In the spirit of bringing worlds of sound together, Fusebox contains a wealth of authentic world and ethnic sounds. A dozen ethnic drum and percussion kits provide you with rhythm sources from around the globe. Combine those with the multisampled ethnic instruments and you can take your music into uncharted territory. You'll find Sitars, flutes, plucked, bowed and more inside. We've even created beatbox machines that combine world percussion with analog synths. The TTUN was born and raised on a tropical island...on Mars.

NN-XT
The NN-XT sampler is the force powering a lot of the Fusebox Combinator programs. Using high quality tube preamps with a 24 bit recording process we have captured an amazing range of sounds for this collection. Here are just a few of the instruments behind Fusebox: ARP Odyssey, Ensoniq Fizmo, Roland TB-303, Korg PolySix, Fender Rhodes, Farfisa organ, Roland SH-101, Moog Polymoog, Sequential Prophet FIve, Waldorf MicrowaveXT, Sitar, flutes, Kantele, Tamboura, tons of drums and percussion and many, many more. And you'll find some very clever programming going on, things like an analog synth layered with an exotic flute triggered by a plucked string. There are 200 NN-XT programs in Fusebox which are made up of full multisampled instruments, sampled oscillators and combinations of both. The source material is designed to give you tons of flexibility and provide virtually endless sonic possibilities. This content of alone could keep you busy forever. Using it to power many of our 300 Combinator patches adds even more versatility to the collection.
NN-19
In addition to a wide variety of NN-19 multis, we also created a diverse assortment of sampled oscillator waveforms from some amazing classic synths. These act as superb bulding blocks for crafting your own synth programs. Tons of authentic analog tones, already pitched to your keyboard and ready to go. There are over 80 raw waveforms inside for you to layer and manipulate. Start with the patches we've already made or roll up your sleevs and start building your own. You'll find the NN-19 used heavily in our Combinators as well. There's over 100 NN-19 programs inside so experiment and have fun!
ReDrum
The ReDrum is a very powerful drum machine, loading it with our drums makes it even more powerful. We've created over 50 kits inside for you to get started with ranging from Hip Hop, Dance, Breaks, Glitch, Jazz and Drum n' Bass to African percussion, South American drums and Japanese Gong kits. We're giving you 500 individual 24 bit hits to build your own kits with. The hits are neatly named and categorized for super fast access. This is probably the most useful and diverse pile of drum hits available for Reason, truly top-shelf stuff.
Dr. Rex
Fusebox includes over 50 Rex bass and drum loops sourced from various recording sessions. Breaks, percussion and an assortment of digital, analog and acoustic bass. These provide great starting points for building your own rhythms. And having them inside the Dr. Rex means it's easy to twist them up and make them your own without worrying about tempo or pitch.

Well, that's the basics. We hope Fusebox inspires you to take your music and the way you think about sound to new places. We think this is the most useful, powerful and unique ReFill available to date and we think you will to.

Thanks and Enjoy!
Love,
TrackTeam ♥
